5 Of The Best Beaches in Europe
We Brits love a good beach, and it’s probably one of the most discussed topics when you arrive back home from holiday, someone always asks ‘What’s the beaches like there?’. 9/10 most beaches around the med are nice beaches, and you can’t go wrong, but some of us long for the perfect beach. I myself I’m always on the search for the perfect beach, I like beaches and waters that look like something out of a pirate movie set, rather than an over crowded beach. I’m sure many of you think the same, so it’s been my quest to scout out some of the most tropical beaches we have in Europe, some are closer to home than you think.
So here is my top five best beaches in Europe (this was so hard, as their is quite a few spectacular beaches on our continent).
#5 – Podrace Beach, Croatia
Croatia is becoming an ever more popular destination for many Brits. Although, it still doesn’t see the heights of tourism as that of the likes of Spain and Turkey. It’s relatively untouched in comparison, which makes it great to find nice little beaches. Podrace beach was ranked in the top 15 most desirable holiday destinations in 2015. The beach is enclosed by lots of greenery and great scenery and ice blue water.
#4 – Isles of Scilly, Tresco Island, UK
The UK can often be overlooked when it comes to wanting a beach holiday. However, the Isles of Scilly has probably more in common with a Caribbean island than anywhere else in the UK. It’s an often occurrence that coconuts, that have drifted over the Atlantic Sea from the Caribbean actually get washed up on the many beaches around the island. The island has more of a tropical climate, but with a that familiar British culture. You must see this place to believe.
#3 – Isola bella beach, Italy
Isola bella beach is situated in Sicily in Italy. It’s host to some of the clearest waters imaginable and it’s got that Italian charm we’ve become familiar with as tourist. This beach destination also is home to some great Italian architecture built around the beach.
#2 Cala Llombards, Mallorca
Mallorca has always been a top destination for us Brits and it’s not hard to see why with this video of Cala Lombards. It’s home to some of the clearest waters known to man, it’s a tourist favourite. This place is going to give you the pictures you desire, and all your friends and family will be envious! Another good reason to visit is there are regular cheap flights from most airports in the UK, and accommodation is relatively cheap.
#1 Zakynthos – Navagio Beach (Shipwreck), Greece
Drum role please… Greece is home to many tropical and gorgeous beaches, but Navagio beach is something different, this is the true movie set beach – it hosts it’s own shipwreck and many caves. Tourist can get to the island through one of the many excursions to the island. The only downside to the island, is it’s becoming evermore popular and in peak season the beach can be pretty crowded. Although, I believe this is the best beach in Europe.
